Banjarbaru – A total of 314 recruits have officially begun their initial Tamtama Infantry training for the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) Wave I of 2026 at Rindam XXII/Tambun Bungai in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan.
This program marks the first stage in shaping future soldiers through an intensive “boot camp” process designed to build character, mental resilience, and physical strength before officially serving in the Indonesian Army.
Commander of Rindam XXII/Tambun Bungai, Ali Akhwan, emphasized that all participating recruits had successfully passed a rigorous selection process.
“All 314 recruits have gone through strict selection and are now beginning their training as the first step toward becoming Indonesian Army soldiers,” he said during the opening ceremony on Saturday.
He explained that the Tamtama training program is not only focused on military skills but also aims to shape strong character, professionalism, and a close connection with the people.
He further stressed that this training period represents a crucial phase in forming a soldier’s identity.
In a message delivered on behalf of the Regional Military Commander, Zainul Arifin, the trainees were encouraged to make the most of their limited training time.
They are expected to fully commit to learning and practicing in order to master the fundamental skills required of infantry soldiers.
“What they gain during this training will become the foundation for their future assignments in their respective units,” he stated.
Additionally, recruits were reminded to maintain a strong, never-give-up attitude throughout the training period. Becoming a member of the Indonesian Army is considered a great honor and pride, not only for the individuals themselves but also for their families.
