UMKM in IKN recorded up to Rp20 million daily revenue during Eid 2026 as thousands of visitors flooded Indonesia’s new capital.

The surge of visitors to Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) during the 2026 Eid holiday has brought major economic benefits to small and medium enterprises (UMKM). With thousands of people visiting daily, many local businesses reported a sharp increase in revenue, reaching tens of millions of rupiah per day.

Special Staff for Public Communication and spokesperson of the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw, said the high public interest in visiting the new capital is not only creating crowds but also strengthening the local economy.

“Public visits to witness the development of IKN firsthand are not only creating vibrancy but also boosting the economy for UMKM players,” he stated on Saturday in Nusantara.

Direct Impact On Local Businesses

The growing number of visitors in the Core Government Area (KIPP) and surrounding regions has significantly accelerated economic activity. Businesses in food, beverages, and souvenirs are among those experiencing the biggest gains.

Nita, a café owner at Sepaku Empat, shared how her revenue increased dramatically during Eid.

“Normally, I earn around Rp1.8 million per day. But during the first three days of Eid, it jumped to around Rp10 million to Rp15 million daily,” she said.

Her Japanese-style mochi turned out to be a bestseller. Despite the time-consuming preparation, demand remained high, especially among younger visitors.

Traditional And Modern Food Businesses Thrive

Wahyu, a dawet ayu vendor known as “Bang Brewok” at Plaza Seremoni, also saw strong sales, earning between Rp10 million and Rp12 million per day during the holiday period.

Meanwhile, Dina, a Nusantara souvenir seller, reported that her revenue doubled compared to normal days, driven largely by demand for traditional clothing.

In the modern culinary sector, Ichi from Goffee Latte and BJ Resto experienced similar trends.

“During holidays or special events, our revenue can reach Rp10 million to Rp15 million per day. But on regular days, it’s usually around Rp2 million to Rp3 million,” Ichi explained.

Signature Dishes Attract Repeat Visitors

Sri Mus Mulyawati, owner of D’sweet Nusantara, highlighted bakwan malang as her top-selling menu item.

“Visitors say the taste is unforgettable. Many of them come back because they remember it,” she said.

During the Eid holiday, her daily revenue reached between Rp10 million and Rp20 million, significantly higher than usual.

Infrastructure Access Plays A Key Role

Improved access to IKN has also been a crucial factor in the rising number of visitors. The opening of road access during the holiday period contributed greatly to the surge in tourist traffic.

This highlights how infrastructure development in IKN not only supports administrative functions but also acts as a catalyst for local economic growth.
