Residents of Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, are shocked by a recent case involving the alleged sexual abuse of a middle school girl, only 14 years old. The Bekasi Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

According to the Police Chief of Bekasi Regency, Commissioner Mustofa, authorities have started questioning witnesses and the victim, identified by the initial S. The suspected perpetrator is a college student with the initial F.

What’s troubling is that the relationship between the victim and the suspect reportedly began online. They first connected through direct messages (DM) on Instagram and then continued chatting via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

“Based on the initial statement, the victim said she had sexual relations with F twice. One incident allegedly happened at the suspect’s home, and another at an empty house next door,” Commissioner Mustofa told reporters on Monday (May 19, 2025).

The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are gathering more evidence. Commissioner Mustofa added that if the evidence is strong enough, the police won’t hesitate to take more serious action, including forced measures.

“If we have enough to go on, we’ll proceed with appropriate legal steps,” he emphasized.

This case is a harsh reminder of how vulnerable young people can be, especially when they interact with strangers on social media. In today’s digital world, online introductions can quickly turn dangerous without proper education and supervision.

The Bekasi Police also urged parents and teachers to be more vigilant and actively educate children about the risks of online predators.
