East Kutai Regent Ardiansyah Sulaiman urges the community to strengthen unity and digital ethics during Eid al-Fitr 1447 H to prevent social division.

Sangatta, East Kutai – East Kutai Regent, Ardiansyah Sulaiman, hopes the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri will be an important moment for the community to end divisions and polarization, especially on social media.

"In the midst of rapid digitalization and the widespread circulation of fake news, Eid al-Fitr should become a turning point to stop division by prioritizing ethics," said Ardiansyah during his speech at Masjid Agung Al-Faruq Sangatta, East Kalimantan, on Saturday.

He emphasized the importance of not being easily provoked by the habit of blaming each other, which is common across online platforms. Spiritual victory after fasting for a month, he said, should be manifested through maturity and self-control in digital interactions.

"The noble values of Ramadan, such as patience and honesty, must continue to be the main foundation for maintaining national unity," he added. The opportunity to return to purity (fitrah) also becomes an important moment to strengthen community bonds.

In addition to focusing on digital ethics, Regent Ardiansyah stressed that the local government remains committed to maintaining economic stability by strengthening the MSME sector. Empowering village communities is also a priority to ensure welfare is felt evenly amid economic dynamics.

He also highlighted the importance of East Kutai’s youth growing into individuals who are ethical, disciplined, and highly competitive. Along with the development of the Nusantara Capital City, the region bears a major responsibility to balance infrastructure development with environmental preservation.

"Clean governance and fast public services continue to be improved based on the integrity of officials," said Ardiansyah. Furthermore, the spirit of caring through zakat, infak, and charity is emphasized as a key factor in strengthening social solidarity.

Through this Eid al-Fitr celebration, the East Kutai community is expected to start a wiser, more empathetic life in both social and digital interactions, upholding unity and harmony.

To ensure a smooth journey:

  • Prepare travel snacks and essentials

  • Avoid peak travel days if possible

Also, make sure your home is secure before leaving, such as turning off unnecessary electricity and locking all doors.

A clean and tidy home is a big part of Eid celebrations. It creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests.

Things you can do:

  • Deep clean all rooms

To stay within budget:

  • Choose comfortable and reusable outfits

  • Adjust purchases to your budget

Comfort and togetherness matter more than appearance.

A checklist is especially helpful if you have a busy schedule.
