| 352,000 visitors crowded IKN during Eid 2026, with Nusantara’s core area becoming a top destination featuring modern facilities and educational attractions. |
Public enthusiasm for Nusantara Capital City (IKN) continues to surge. During the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, a total of 352,102 people visited the area, particularly between March 18–29, 2026.
The spike in visitors was also reflected in vehicle traffic. A total of 80,105 vehicles—ranging from motorcycles and cars to buses—entered the Core Government Area (KIPP) of Nusantara.
Special Staff for Public Communication and spokesperson for the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw, stated that visitor services remained optimal despite the significant increase in public interest.
“During the visitation period, the State Palace and the National Mosque areas became the most crowded spots in KIPP Nusantara,” Troy said on Tuesday.
Popular Destinations Inside IKN
In addition to the main government zones, several other attractions gained popularity among visitors, including:
The glass bridge in the glamping area
Sepaku Semoi Dam
Kusuma Bangsa Park
The glamping area offers a unique experience, blending open public spaces with natural landscapes. The MBH reservoir also serves as an alternative destination for visitors seeking a relaxing yet modern environment.
Meanwhile, Ceremony Plaza and Bhinneka Plaza have become central hubs for public activities, supported by culinary spots, social interaction spaces, and entertainment facilities.
Sentra Massa Becomes Educational Hub
Thousands of visitors also explored Sentra Massa, an information center showcasing the development of IKN. The facility features a mini theater, development models, a mini control center, and interactive displays that provide a comprehensive overview of the new capital’s progress.
This makes visiting IKN not just a tourism activity, but also an educational experience for the public.
Strong Coordination Ensures Smooth Services
According to Troy, the smooth handling of the visitor surge was made possible through coordinated efforts. The Public Visit Service Team, led by IKN Authority Secretary Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto, played a crucial role in managing visitor flow.
Deputy for Development Control, Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi, also supported operations as deputy head of the team.
The IKN Authority expressed appreciation to all parties involved, including the military, police, local authorities in Sepaku and Penajam Paser Utara, as well as the Ministry of Public Works, for ensuring safety, infrastructure readiness, and visitor comfort.
Medical personnel, field officers, and tour guides were also acknowledged for delivering services throughout the holiday period.
Positive Signal for IKN’s Future
The surge in visitors highlights growing public interest in IKN—not only as Indonesia’s future administrative capital but also as an emerging tourism and educational destination.
With continuously improving facilities and infrastructure, IKN is poised to become a major attraction for both domestic and international visitors in the coming years.
