KPK and police strengthen coordination in handling corruption cases, with several investigations still in early stages, says Asep Guntur.

Jakarta – Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu and Director of Investigation Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto visited the headquarters of Indonesian National Police to discuss the handling of several alleged corruption cases.

The visit reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen synergy between the Corruption Eradication Commission and the police in addressing corruption cases currently under review.

“There are several cases that we are currently communicating about,” Asep said at the police headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday.

However, he declined to disclose further details, noting that the cases are still at an early stage of investigation.

“Since this is still in the early stage, we are not able to share details at this time,” he added.

Cross-Agency Coordination Is Key

Asep explained that the discussions were held with Head of the Corruption Crime Task Force of the police, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, along with his team. The meeting had been scheduled as part of routine coordination between institutions.

“This meeting was planned as part of coordination with the task force leadership and their team regarding case handling,” he said.

According to Asep, corruption cases cannot be effectively handled by a single institution alone. Collaboration among KPK, the police, and prosecutors is essential to ensure effective law enforcement.

“KPK, the police, and the Attorney General’s Office, along with other stakeholders, must work together in handling corruption cases. This is part of coordination and communication,” he explained.

Police Reaffirm Commitment To Synergy

In a separate statement, Totok Suharyanto confirmed the meeting and emphasized that it was aimed at strengthening coordination.

“This is part of efforts to enhance coordination and synergy between the corruption task force and KPK in handling several cases,” Totok said.

Police uncover a motorcycle theft case in Banjarmasin by tracking stolen vehicle sales on social media, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

Banjarmasin – The Criminal Investigation Unit of East Banjarmasin Police Sector, under Banjarmasin Police Department and South Kalimantan Regional Police, has successfully uncovered a motorcycle theft case by tracking the sale of stolen vehicles through social media.

Two suspects identified as MAJ (27) and AH (23) were arrested and secured along with evidence, including a stolen motorcycle.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Ipda Sukma Yudhistira Nugraha, stated that the case began with a public report regarding a stolen motorcycle on March 15, 2026.

“After receiving the report, we immediately conducted an investigation and found the victim’s motorcycle being offered for sale on Facebook,” he said on Tuesday in Banjarmasin.

Officers then carried out further investigation using an undercover approach by posing as potential buyers to confirm the identity of the vehicle. A meeting with the suspects was arranged on Gatot Subroto Street.

During the transaction process, officers checked the vehicle’s frame and engine numbers, which matched the victim’s motorcycle.

“Once confirmed, officers immediately moved in to make the arrest. The suspect attempted to flee toward a swamp area,” Yudhistira explained.

Despite the escape attempt, the first suspect, MAJ, was successfully apprehended. During initial questioning, he admitted committing the theft with an accomplice.

Following further investigation, officers quickly moved to the second suspect’s hideout in the Pangambangan area.

“The second suspect was arrested without resistance at his residence. He was involved in assisting by pushing the stolen vehicle,” he added.

Police secured one unit of a 2018 Honda Beat motorcycle belonging to the victim as evidence.

The case began when the victim parked the motorcycle at the courtyard of Langgar Darussalam after performing dawn prayers. The vehicle was later reported missing as it was not locked properly.

As a result, the victim suffered an estimated loss of around IDR 10 million and reported the incident to the police.

Authorities are currently investigating the possibility of a wider network or additional suspects involved in the case.

“We urge the public to remain vigilant when parking their vehicles and ensure proper locking to prevent theft,” Yudhistira concluded.

Family Poisoned by Own Son Sparks Shock in Tanjung Priok.

Hey guys, you won’t believe this one. Jakarta’s North Coast, Tanjung Priok, just got hit by a crazy story—one family poisoned, and the twist? The suspect is their own son.

The police, Polres Metro North Jakarta, have officially named AS as the main suspect. According to AKBP Onkoeseno Gradiarso Sukahar, the investigation was solid, gathering proof from forensic labs, doctors, toxicology reports, and witness statements.

“After a thorough check and lab results, we confirmed AS deliberately poisoned three family members. He was officially made a suspect on February 4, 2026,” Onkoeseno explained.

So, why would someone do this? Turns out, AS had a deep grudge against his family. He felt treated unfairly and constantly scolded by his mother. That resentment turned deadly.

Now, AS is facing serious charges: Articles 459/467 of the Indonesian Criminal Code for murder and premeditated murder, plus Article 76C jo Article 80 of the Child Protection Law. If convicted, he could be locked up for up to 20 years.

This shocking case is a reminder that family conflicts left unresolved can go way too far. Police are urging people to speak up and get help before feelings turn toxic.
