Google Maps is continuously evolving to offer more convenience to its users. After the announcement in March, the Google Maps app on iPhone now has a new feature that allows users to scan screenshots on their device and automatically detect the address or location in the image. This feature uses technology from Google Gemini, an advanced AI system.

This new tool is super helpful for those of you who frequently save screenshots with addresses or names of interesting places, like restaurants, cafes, or tourist attractions. In the past, you might have had to search through your gallery, remember the address, and then manually find the location on the map. But now, Google Maps does all of that automatically, saving you time and effort!

Once it scans the image, the app will offer the option to save the location in a special list under the "Your Places" tab. From there, you can move it to other collections if you want. Google Maps can even recognize a location just by identifying objects in the picture, without needing an address. This feature works best for well-known landmarks or recognizable spots.

To use the auto-scanning feature, you'll need to grant access to all your photos. However, if you'd prefer to import images manually from your gallery, that's also an option.

Currently, this feature is available only for iOS users with English language settings. But don't worry, Google plans to roll it out for Android devices soon.

With this feature, Google Maps is making it even easier to discover and save interesting places without the hassle. It’s definitely an innovation worth trying for iOS users!
