Huawei Unveils HarmonyOS for PC: A New Competitor to Windows and macOS. |
Huawei has officially introduced HarmonyOS for PCs, a new operating system designed to rival the dominance of Windows and macOS in the computer market. With this launch, HarmonyOS now spans across all Huawei devices, including smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, wearables, cars, and now, computers.
The latest version of HarmonyOS comes with over 150 exclusive apps, alongside more than 2,000 universal apps that have been integrated to enhance the user experience. Additionally, developers have focused on improving performance, device collaboration, and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features.
What's more, HarmonyOS for PC is compatible with over 1,000 external devices, such as keyboards, mice, monitors, and printers. So, if you're a Huawei user, the integration between devices will be smoother and more seamless.
One of the standout features of HarmonyOS is its Ark graphic engine, which boosts visuals and ensures stable performance even when multiple windows or apps are open simultaneously. The operating system also comes with StarShield Security, a security architecture that uses Nearlink technology to track lost devices, even if they're powered off. Plus, there's a remote data wipe feature for added security.
HarmonyOS also supports shared use of a keyboard and mouse, allowing you to control multiple devices with just one set of input. Additionally, users can easily access all their Huawei devices through a single account.
Huawei plans to launch the first PCs running HarmonyOS on May 19. Will HarmonyOS be able to compete with established operating systems like Windows and macOS? We'll have to wait and see!
