Jambi, Indonesia – The Jambi Regional Police are taking serious action against overloaded and oversized trucks, known as ODOL (Over Dimension Over Loading). From May 11 to 18, 2025, the Jambi Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas Polda Jambi) ticketed 52 ODOL vehicles in a coordinated operation with several local police units.

The most violations were recorded by the Sarolangun Police Traffic Unit, which issued 29 tickets. Batanghari Police followed with 15, Merangin Police with five, Muaro Jambi Police with two, and Kerinci Police with one.

According to Jambi’s Traffic Director, Police Commissioner Adi Benny Cahyono, this operation is part of a broader commitment to support the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) program aimed at eliminating ODOL practices on the roads.

“All our traffic units across the province are fully committed to supporting the Zero ODOL policy,” said Commissioner Adi Benny, as quoted by Antara on Monday (May 19, 2025).

But it’s not just about issuing tickets. Officers on the ground are also focusing on educational and preventive measures. They’re engaging directly with truck drivers and vehicle owners to explain the dangers of exceeding legal limits for vehicle size and weight.

“This ODOL crackdown is not only about enforcement. It’s also about raising awareness. We want drivers to understand that overloaded trucks aren’t just illegal—they’re dangerous,” he added.

ODOL vehicles pose a major threat on the road. They increase the risk of accidents and significantly damage infrastructure due to excessive loads. That’s why the Jambi Police are stepping up their efforts to reduce these violations.

So for all truck drivers and cargo operators out there—this is your reminder to follow the rules! Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, and avoiding overloading doesn’t just save roads—it can save lives.
