Natalie Portman Hints at Star Wars Comeback—Wants to Wield a Lightsaber as a Jedi. |
Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman just made headlines after appearing on the British talk show The One Show, where she opened up about possibly returning to the Star Wars universe. And guess what? She’s totally down for a comeback—but this time, she wants to rock a lightsaber!
Portman first joined the galaxy far, far away back in 1999 when she played the role of Queen Padmé Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. She was only 16 years old at the time! Padmé went on to become one of the central figures in the prequel trilogy before her heartbreaking death in Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
But when asked about returning to the franchise, Natalie didn’t hold back her excitement:
“If there’s any way to bring her back, that would be amazing. I’d love to come back—with a lightsaber! I think she should be a Jedi.”
Imagine Padmé returning as a powerful Jedi? That would definitely be a twist fans didn’t see coming!
Besides talking about Star Wars, Natalie also shared a bit about her upcoming film, “Fountain of Youth,” directed by Guy Ritchie. It’s an adventure-packed movie, and Natalie admitted she’s drawn to action roles because she grew up in a quiet household with a pretty boring childhood (her words, not ours!).
The film is set to hit international theaters on May 23, and from what we’re hearing, it’s going to be full of thrilling moments and unexpected turns.
Natalie Portman possibly returning to Star Wars as a Jedi is something fans can definitely get excited about. While nothing is official yet, her openness to rejoin the franchise adds fuel to the fire of speculation. In the meantime, fans can catch her in Fountain of Youth later this month for an action-packed performance.
