A shocking hit-and-run case in Bireuen, Aceh has finally been solved. Police have arrested a suspect identified by the initials Haji L, who allegedly fled after fatally hitting a woman on the Medan–Banda Aceh Highway, near Pulo Village in Peudada District.
The tragic incident sparked public outcry, but thanks to the tireless efforts of local law enforcement, justice is finally within reach.
Suspect Arrested Peacefully at Home
According to Bireuen Police Traffic Unit Head, Iptu Aditia, the suspect was apprehended at his residence without resistance. Officers also seized the truck used in the crash as evidence.
“Thanks to the hard work of our officers and support from the victim's family and the public, we successfully arrested the suspect,” said Iptu Aditia on Thursday (June 19, 2025).

The operation received praise from the Director of Traffic at the Aceh Police Department, Kombes Pol. Iqbal Alqudusy, who emphasized the commitment of the police in solving road crime cases.
“On behalf of the Aceh Police Chief, I want to express our appreciation to Bireuen Traffic Police for solving a hit-and-run case once again. This proves the police’s seriousness in carrying out their duties,” said Kombes Pol. Iqbal.
This marks the second successful resolution of a hit-and-run case by the Bireuen Police in a short period.
