Jakarta, Indonesia – The Precision Pioneer Patrol Team of the Central Jakarta Metro Police successfully arrested three teenagers involved in a violent street brawl in the Petamburan area, Tanah Abang. The suspects, identified by their initials MR (16), RS (12), and FJ (19), were caught after officers received a report from concerned residents about a street fight involving a group of youths.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro, confirmed the arrests and presented several weapons seized during the operation.

“As soon as we received the tip-off from the public, our team responded immediately and managed to apprehend three teenagers along with several dangerous weapons,” Commissioner Susatyo said on Thursday (June 26, 2025).

Weapons Confiscated from the Scene

The police secured the following items used in the street fight:

  • 1 sickle (clurit)

  • 2 iron rods with knife-like tips

  • 4 blunt iron rods

  • 1 firecracker

These weapons suggest that the brawl could have caused serious injuries or even fatalities, not only to the participants but also to bystanders.

Police Commitment to Tackle Youth Violence in Jakarta

Commissioner Susatyo emphasized that this swift action reflects the police's commitment to maintaining public safety and addressing community concerns.

“Quick intervention like this is crucial to prevent casualties and maintain public order,” he said.

Parental Supervision Urged: Keep Teens Safe at Night

The Police Chief also issued a heartfelt reminder to parents: be more attentive to your children's activities, especially at night.

“We urge parents not to be careless. Always monitor your children's activities, especially when they go out at night. Don’t let them get involved in violence that could ruin their future,” Commissioner Susatyo warned.

Message to Teenagers: Spend Time on Positive Activities

The police also encouraged young people to channel their energy into productive and positive activities—whether it's sports, creative hobbies, or community involvement.

This incident serves as a wake-up call for everyone—parents, schools, and the community—to actively prevent youth violence. Strong parental guidance and proactive community support are key to ensuring our teenagers grow up in a safe and nurturing environment.
