Residents of Ciputat, South Tangerang, are shaken by reports of alleged sexual abuse involving a special education (SLB) teacher accused of assaulting a student with special needs. The case is currently under active investigation by local police.

According to South Tangerang Police Public Relations Officer AKP Agil, the Criminal Investigation Unit has already begun following up on the report. “We've conducted a medical examination (visum) on the victim and obtained clarification from the person who filed the report,” Agil said, as reported by Antaranews on Wednesday (June 4, 2025).

The report was submitted by a parent, identified by the initials AL (45), who claims that his child, HP, a student with autism, was sexually abused by a teacher at the school.

“This case is still under further investigation by our Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA),” Agil explained.

The alleged perpetrator is a teacher with the initials FR. However, police have not disclosed detailed information about when or where the abuse took place, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

“We’ve already performed a visum on the victim and spoken with the person who reported the case,” he added.

Police also confirmed that they've questioned several witnesses as well as the suspect. “Yes, we’ve spoken with both the witnesses and the reported individual,” Agil said.

Meanwhile, Tri Purwanto, Head of the Women and Children Protection Agency (UPTD PPA) in South Tangerang, confirmed the report involving a student with autism who is believed to have been sexually assaulted. He stated that the agency has been actively supporting the victim.

“We’ve carried out all of our duties. Most recently, we conducted a psychological evaluation of the victim, and we’ve already submitted the results to the police,” Tri confirmed.

This case has drawn strong public attention, particularly because it involves a vulnerable child. Authorities are urging the public to allow the investigation to proceed fairly and to offer support to the victim and their family during this difficult time.

Everyone hopes that justice will be served and that the legal process runs transparently. Protecting children—especially those with special needs—must always be a top priority in educational settings. Let this case be a wake-up call to ensure the safety and well-being of all students moving forward.
