Terror Suspect Arrested in Bima: Densus 88 and Local Police Join Forces. |
Residents of Bima, located in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), were startled by the arrest of a suspected terrorist by Indonesia’s elite counter-terrorism squad, Densus 88. The suspect, identified by the initials AH, was taken into custody on Wednesday, June 19, 2025.
The news was confirmed by AKBP Mayndra E. Wardhana, the spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-Terror Police. Speaking on Friday (June 20), he said, “Yes, the arrest did happen.”
Additional details came from the Bima City Police Department. Aipda Nasrun, acting as the Sub-Section Head of Public Relations, shared that local officers assisted Densus 88 during the operation. However, he admitted that he wasn't fully informed about the identity of the suspect or who else was involved in backing up the mission.
“The operation took place yesterday. We helped out, but we’re not exactly sure who all was involved,” Nasrun stated, as quoted by Antara News.
While the authorities have yet to release more information about AH’s background or his possible connections to terror networks, it’s believed that the case is still under thorough investigation. Operations like this are often handled with high confidentiality to protect both the investigation process and the officers involved.
This arrest serves as a reminder that terrorism remains a real threat, and constant vigilance is essential. The role of Densus 88 in preventing potential acts of terror is crucial for maintaining public safety and national security.
The public is also encouraged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity in their surroundings. Ensuring security is not only the job of the police but a shared responsibility of all citizens.
Let’s hope this arrest leads to uncovering wider networks and helps prevent future threats. We’ll be waiting for more official updates as the investigation continues.
