So, Apple is finally jumping into the foldable game — and if the latest leak is anything to go by, it’s gonna be wild. According to analysts from UBS, Apple’s first foldable iPhone could come with a starting price tag between $1,800 to $2,000, which is around Rp29 million to Rp32 million. That’s even more expensive than the MacBook Pro, which starts at $1,599 or about Rp25 million.

Yeah, you read that right — this could end up being the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever made, easily beating the current iPhone Pro Max that starts at $1,199 (roughly Rp18.5 million).

But if we’re talking competition, that price isn’t totally off the charts. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is arguably its biggest rival, is also priced around $2,000 (Rp32 million). So yeah, Apple’s clearly not holding back.

It’s Gonna Be Thicker Than Samsung’s Fold

Insider leaks don’t stop at the price. According to a pretty reliable source, Instant Digital, Apple’s foldable iPhone will have a thickness of around 4.8mm when unfolded. That lines up pretty close to what Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted earlier — around 4.5mm — although he did mention Apple might not hit that number.

For context, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is 4.2mm thick when unfolded, so Apple’s version will be slightly bulkier no matter which leak turns out to be right.

What About Specs? Here's the Early Scoop

If the rumors are legit, here’s what Apple might be packing into this foldable beast:

  • A large 7.8-inch inner display with a near crease-free design

  • A 5.5-inch external screen for quick use

  • Dual rear cameras plus a single front-facing camera

  • And surprisingly, a Touch ID button instead of Face ID

The plan, according to Kuo, is for Apple to start mass production in the second half of 2026, so don’t expect to see this phone anytime soon.

Is Apple’s Foldable Worth the Price Hype?

Let’s be real — over Rp30 million for a phone? That’s a big leap, even by Apple standards. But if you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem or just love trying the latest tech first, this foldable iPhone might be your next obsession.
