Elon Musk is back at it again, and this time he's launching a brainy new AI called Grok 4 and its upgraded version, Grok 4 Heavy, under his company xAI. These aren’t your average chatbots. Musk claims this AI doesn’t just answer questions, it can handle stuff on the level of actual scientists. We're talking about deep understanding of context, the ability to process both images and text at the same time, and even multitasking with several AI agents working together to solve one problem.
What makes Grok 4 Heavy really interesting is the way it works like a "study group." Basically, multiple AI agents team up to figure out a solution, compare answers, and pick the best one. It’s kind of like having a bunch of genius bots brainstorming at once. Plus, it’s designed to sound more human in conversations. It can speak with different tones, even sing, and get this—it understands memes and internet slang. Yup, this thing might actually keep up with Gen Z in a group chat.
When put to the test in something called “The Final Exam of Humanity” — which is a super tough test full of science and humanities questions — Grok 4 Heavy scored 44.4 percent. That’s way ahead of Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro at 26.9 percent and OpenAI’s o3 model at 21 percent. It also nailed another test called ARC-AGI-2, where it had to recognize visual patterns. Grok 4 Heavy got 16.2 percent, almost double what Claude Opus 4 got.
And there’s more coming. xAI already has a bunch of cool stuff lined up. In August, they’re rolling out an AI specifically built for coding. September brings a multi-modal agent that can handle text, images, and voice in one go. Then in October, they’re dropping a full-on AI video generator. Developers can tap into all of this through an API, and businesses can hook into it via cloud partners.
So how much does this all cost? If you want to try Grok 4, it’s available now through a SuperGrok subscription at about 30 dollars per month, or around 492,000 rupiah. But if you’re serious about getting early access to Grok 4 Heavy and all future features, there’s the SuperGrok Heavy plan for 300 dollars a month—yep, roughly 4.9 million rupiah. Not cheap, but you’re basically paying to chat with a genius-level AI.
