Exposed: Pastor in Blitar Accused of Molesting Three Children – Police Reveal Timeline and Disturbing Details.

Blitar, East Java – The community of Blitar has been rocked by a disturbing case involving a local pastor. A 67-year-old man, identified by the initials DKBH, was arrested by the East Java Regional Police for allegedly molesting three underage children over a two-year period, from 2022 to 2024.

Children Victimized at a Place of Worship

The case came to light after the victims bravely shared their traumatic experiences with their parents. Shockingly, the victims' parents were church staff members who had known the suspect for a long time. In fact, the family, including the three children, had lived in one of the rooms inside the church from 2021 to 2022.

According to Police Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast, the spokesperson for the East Java Police, investigations revealed that the suspect committed the assaults at different times and in several locations.

The abuse reportedly took place in private settings such as his office, bedroom, family room, and even at a swimming pool and a homestay. The suspect allegedly touched the victims inappropriately and repeatedly over the course of two years.

No Promises, Just Manipulation

Commissioner Widi Atmoko, Director of the East Java Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, explained that the suspect used manipulation, not material rewards, to approach and abuse the victims. He said the pastor often invited the children to go out, using that as an opportunity to get close to them.

“He didn’t offer anything. There were no promises of money or gifts. It was simply about gaining their trust,” said Commissioner Widi.

Building a Solid Case Took Time

Bringing this case to court wasn’t easy. According to investigators, sexual abuse cases involving children often lack eyewitnesses, which makes it harder to establish strong legal grounds. The police had to rely heavily on the children’s testimonies and supporting evidence in line with Article 184 of the Indonesian Criminal Code.

The suspect, DKBH, has been held at the East Java Police Detention Center since July 11, 2025.

Facing Severe Legal Consequences

If found guilty, the suspect will be charged under Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76E of Law No. 17 of 2016 on Child Protection. This law carries a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years in prison, along with a maximum fine of 5 billion rupiah.

Stay Alert, Protect Our Children

This tragic case is a wake-up call for all of us. Abuse can happen anywhere, even in places that are supposed to feel safe. It’s crucial for parents to be attentive to any changes in their children’s behavior and create a space where kids feel comfortable sharing what they experience.

If you suspect abuse, don’t stay silent. Reporting it can save lives. Our children’s safety must always come first.
