Hey Kalbar drivers! Got overdue vehicle taxes? Expired license? Or maybe your bike’s paperwork is kinda... lost in time? Well, this is your sign to fix it—because Operation Patuh Kapuas 2025 just kicked off!

On Monday, July 14, 2025, the West Kalimantan Police officially launched a 14-day operation aimed at making roads safer and helping people stay on top of their vehicle documents. The opening ceremony, held at Jananuraga Field in Pontianak, was led by Police Chief Irjen Pol Pipit Rismanto and attended by Governor Ria Norsan, who’s fully backing this mission.

What’s the Goal?

It's not just another traffic crackdown. This operation is about:

  • Reminding drivers to follow traffic rules

  • Reducing accidents (yep, the stats are rising)

  • Helping people get their licenses and vehicle documents back in shape

  • Making it easier to pay taxes and renew stuff—right on the spot!

So yeah, it’s part crackdown, part public service, and part public awareness campaign.

How’s It Gonna Work?

According to the Kapolda (Police Chief), it’s not all about ticketing people. The police will work with Bapenda, Jasa Raharja, and other local agencies to set up spots where you can renew your license (SIM) or pay vehicle taxes (PKB) during traffic stops.

If you get stopped because your license or tax is expired, they won’t just fine you—they’ll help you sort it out right then and there. Cool, right?

“This is a more human-centered approach. We want people to feel supported, not punished,” said the Police Chief.

Watch Out for These Hotspots

They’ve already mapped out accident-prone areas and even “blank spots”—places with weak communication signals. The focus will also be on night time and weekends, when illegal street racing usually ramps up.

So if you're planning to show off your modded motor on a quiet Saturday night… maybe think twice.

No Mercy for “Bodong” Vehicles

Got a vehicle without proper papers? Sorry, but this operation means business. Any “bodong” (unregistered) cars or bikes found will go straight into legal processing—no matter who owns them, even if it’s a police officer.

Massive Tax Discounts (Up to 50%!)

Here’s the sweet part: to support this whole program, the West Kalimantan Government is giving huge vehicle tax relief. Governor Ria Norsan confirmed it—this is the moment to fix those overdue STNKs and BPKBs!

From June 30 to December 20, 2025, you can get:

5% off for on-time taxpayers
25% off if you’ve skipped tax for 4 years
40% off if your tax is overdue for 5 years
50% off if you're switching plates to Kalbar
No late penalties on overdue taxes
Zero progressive tax for 2nd+ vehicles
Free 2nd vehicle name transfer (BBNKB)
No penalties for past SWDKLLJ fees

All of this is based on Governor Regulation No. 26 of 2025, which supports tax relief to ease people’s financial burdens—especially with everything getting more expensive these days.

So, What Are You Waiting For?

If your documents are expired or your taxes are overdue, don’t wait for a ticket. This is the best time to get your vehicle stuff done without breaking the bank.

Operation Patuh Kapuas 2025 is here to help—not just to fine you. It’s all about creating safer roads, helping people fix their vehicle documents, and making the whole process a lot more friendly and accessible.

And hey, saving up to 50%? That’s a win.
