The “Beaver Team” of the Pontianak Timur Police has once again proven its sharp instincts in cracking down on crime. Led directly by Criminal Investigation Unit Chief IPDA Agus Haryadi, the team successfully apprehended a motorcycle theft suspect identified as ADS on Monday, October 6, 2025, around 2:30 p.m. local time, at Jalan Tanjung Hilir, Pontianak Timur District. The arrest came less than 24 hours after the theft took place on Sunday night, October 5, 2025, at around 11:00 p.m.
The suspect, ADS, is a repeat offender with a criminal record for similar offenses. During the arrest, police also seized a black-and-red Honda Supra 125 motorcycle with license plate number KB 4915 SM, believed to be the stolen vehicle.
Pontianak Timur Police Chief AKP Tarminto, S.H., M.H., confirmed the arrest and praised his team for their swift and precise response under the leadership of IPDA Agus Haryadi.
“This success demonstrates our commitment to maintaining public safety and order, especially in the Pontianak Timur area. We will continue to take firm action against all forms of criminal activity,” said AKP Tarminto on Monday (Oct 6).
According to IPDA Agus Haryadi, the operation began shortly after the police received a theft report from a local resident. The Beaver Team quickly conducted a field investigation, collecting CCTV footage and witness statements to track the suspect’s movements.
“We gathered strong leads on the suspect’s whereabouts and immediately moved in for the arrest without resistance,” explained IPDA Agus.
The Beaver Team has earned a reputation among Pontianak Timur residents as a rapid-response crime-fighting unit, often solving theft and robbery cases within hours. Their quick actions continue to build public trust in local law enforcement.
Currently, the suspect ADS is being held at the Pontianak Timur Police Station for further legal processing. Authorities are also conducting additional investigations to determine whether the suspect was working alone or as part of a larger motorcycle theft ring.
Police are urging the public to remain alert and take extra precautions when parking or leaving their vehicles unattended, especially at night. Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods immediately.
This swift arrest marks another success story for the Pontianak Timur Police, who remain committed to reducing street crimes like motorcycle thefts that often unsettle local communities. With continued vigilance and public cooperation, the police hope to maintain safety and order across the Pontianak Timur area as the year draws to a close.
