Jakarta just saw another major drug bust after the Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya seized 15.507 kilograms of marijuana and arrested three men in a coordinated operation on Friday (Feb 13, 2026).
This latest marijuana trafficking case highlights ongoing efforts to crack down on drug distribution networks operating across the capital and surrounding areas.
Tip-Off Leads to Arrest at Tanah Abang
According to AKP Arie from the narcotics unit, the investigation started with a public tip about a suspected drug transaction in the parking area of Stasiun Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
After conducting surveillance and mapping the scene, officers moved in and detained three suspects identified as RA (30), TB (25), and AW (33).
During a search at the location, police discovered 10 kilograms of marijuana packed inside a carry bag.
More Marijuana Found in South Tangerang
The investigation didn’t stop there. Authorities followed up on new leads that pointed to a rental house in Pamulang, South Tangerang.
At the second location in Tangerang Selatan, officers uncovered an additional 5.507 kilograms of marijuana, bringing the total seizure to 15.507 kilograms.
Police confirmed that both the suspects and the seized marijuana have been transported to headquarters for further questioning and legal processing.
Ongoing Investigation Into Drug Network
Authorities believe the case may be connected to a wider marijuana distribution network. Investigators are now working to trace the supply chain and identify other individuals possibly involved in the illegal drug trade.
Under Indonesia’s narcotics law, the suspects could face serious charges related to drug trafficking and possession of marijuana.
Police also encouraged the public to continue reporting suspicious activities, emphasizing that community tips play a key role in disrupting drug trafficking operations in Jakarta and beyond.
