Sekadau Police evacuated a resident of Gonis Tekam Village, Sekadau Hilir District, Sekadau Regency, who suddenly suffered from appendicitis on Thursday (May 7, 2026) night. The patient was taken to Sekadau Hospital using a police patrol car after the family struggled to find transportation during the emergency.
The request for assistance was received by the Sekadau Police SPKT post at around 11:13 p.m. local time. After receiving the report, Samapta II officers led by IPDA Hendra immediately headed to the location.
Sekadau Police SPKT officer IPDA Subhan Syah Khan said officers found the resident, identified as Wayan, in severe pain and in urgent need of medical treatment.
“Without delay, officers immediately transported the patient to Sekadau Hospital using a Samapta patrol vehicle,” IPDA Subhan said on Friday (May 8).
The evacuation took place late at night when the patient’s family was unable to secure transportation to the hospital. The situation prompted the family to seek help from the police.
Sekadau Police Chief AKBP Andhika Wiratama, through Public Relations officer AKP Triyono, said the quick response reflected the police’s commitment to serving the community, especially in humanitarian emergencies.
“In emergency situations, particularly at night when residents face difficulties finding transportation or assistance, the presence of police officers is expected to help people who urgently need support,” AKP Triyono said.
The incident highlighted the rapid response of Sekadau Police officers in assisting residents during medical emergencies, especially when transportation access is limited at night.
