| BNN Batang conducts interactive anti-drug education for students through MEGA program, introducing prevention efforts and drug awareness in Central Java. |
Batang, Central Java — The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Batang Regency held an interactive “space exploration” education program for students on Sunday in Batang, introducing its duties, facilities, and learning tools related to drug prevention and enforcement efforts.
The program was designed as an immersive learning experience, allowing students to observe dioramas, drug replicas, and various operational tools used in drug prevention and enforcement.
Head of the Rehabilitation Team at BNN Batang, Ardhi Yusuf Rahmawan, said the agency is opening wide opportunities for students and university learners who want to study BNN’s methods in combating drug abuse.
He explained that participants not only observed educational displays but also received explanations about the roles of each BNN unit involved in tackling narcotics cases.
The initiative is part of the “Motivation for Drug-Free Generation Education” (MEGA) program, which aims to provide direct exposure to drug prevention strategies and the dangers of narcotics.
“The students responded very positively because this was a new experience for them,” Ardhi said.
Previously, similar visits were conducted by several educational institutions, including SMP Negeri 6 Batang and MAN Batang.
Ardhi Yusuf Rahmawan emphasized that hands-on education is crucial to improving students’ understanding of BNN’s role and raising awareness about drug dangers.
He also stressed the importance of early prevention, noting that students remain one of the most vulnerable groups targeted by drug abuse, including misuse of substances such as tramadol and hexymer.
According to available data, BNN Batang, together with the Central Java Provincial BNN, uncovered five narcotics cases involving 11 suspects throughout 2025.
BNN Batang hopes this direct educational approach will strengthen students’ understanding and encourage them to spread anti-drug awareness within their schools and communities.
