TechRadar’s June 2026 smartphone rankings place the OnePlus 15 above the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max remains the best overall device.

TechRadar released its updated list of the best smartphones of 2026 in June, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max retaining the top spot overall, while the OnePlus 15 emerged as the highest-ranked Android device, placing ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.

According to TechRadar, the iPhone 17 Pro Max stands out with its 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with peak brightness of 3,000 nits, A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, a new vapor chamber cooling system, triple 48MP cameras, 8x zoom capability, and battery life exceeding 30 hours.

Among Android devices, the OnePlus 15 received praise for its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with up to a 165Hz refresh rate, triple 50MP camera setup, and a massive 7,300mAh battery.

Based on TechRadar’s testing, the OnePlus 15 can last nearly three days on a single charge. The publication also noted that the device delivers flagship-level performance at a relatively affordable price.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra ranked just behind the OnePlus 15 and earned recognition as the best Android smartphone for mobile photography. The device features a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and dual telephoto cameras offering 3x and 5x optical zoom.

Samsung’s flagship also supports the S Pen and includes the new Privacy Display feature, which limits screen visibility to nearby onlookers. However, TechRadar does not recommend Galaxy S25 Ultra owners upgrade unless they have a compelling reason.

Further down the rankings, the iPhone 17 Pro was named the best iPhone for mobile photography, while the Google Pixel 10 Pro received the title of best Android smartphone for artificial intelligence features.

In the foldable category, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 retained its position as the top choice thanks to its 8-inch internal display, slimmer design, and 200MP primary camera.

TechRadar also included the Google Pixel 10a and the standard iPhone 17 in its list. The Pixel 10a was recognized as the best budget Pixel device, offering a sub-$500 price tag, seven years of Android updates, a 5,100mAh battery, and a capable camera system for its class.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 was selected as the best smartphone for teenagers, featuring a 120Hz display, Always-On Display support, dual 48MP cameras, and 256GB of storage in the base model.

TechRadar’s latest rankings highlight the growing competition in the flagship smartphone market. While the iPhone 17 Pro Max remains the best overall smartphone, the OnePlus 15 has secured the top spot among Android devices, surpassing the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
