MUARA TEWEH — The return travel flow for Eid 2026 on the air route between Muara Teweh, North Barito Regency in Central Kalimantan, and Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, has started to decline on H+5.

Head of Haji Muhammad Sidik Airport in Muara Teweh, Muhammad Amrillah, said the number of airline passengers on Thursday was lower compared to the previous day, which marked the peak of return travel.

“Today, flights between Muara Teweh and Banjarmasin are seeing fewer passengers compared to H+4, which was the peak of the return flow,” he stated.

On H+5, a total of 57 passengers arrived in Muara Teweh from Banjarmasin, while 41 passengers departed from Muara Teweh to Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru. The route was served by a single daily flight operated by Wings Air.

Peak Travel Occurred on H+4

Amrillah explained that the highest passenger traffic occurred on H+4, Wednesday (March 25). On that day, 68 passengers arrived in Muara Teweh, while 71 departed.

The surge was driven by travelers returning to work after the Eid holiday period.

“Passenger numbers are now decreasing as people have started going back to work,” he added.

Flights Dominated by Transit Passengers

Haji Muhammad Sidik Airport currently operates daily round-trip flights to Banjarmasin using Wings Air’s ATR 72-600 aircraft, which has a capacity of 72 passengers.

Pioneer and Subsidized Flights Continue

In addition to the main route, the airport also serves pioneer flights to Palangka Raya via Tjilik Riwut Airport.

These flights are operated by Susi Air once a week, every Monday.

The aircraft used is a Cessna with a capacity of 12 passengers. Ticket prices are approximately IDR 540,020 for the Palangka Raya–Muara Teweh route and IDR 493,420 for the return route.

Meanwhile, commercial flights operated by Wings Air on the Muara Teweh–Palangka Raya route are available four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Return Travel Expected to Continue Declining

Kubu Raya Regent inspects gas stations and finds fuel shortages and long queues. Demand surges over 20 percent ahead of Eid, raising distribution concerns.

KUBU RAYA – As travel activity rises ahead of Eid al-Fitr, fuel supply issues are becoming a growing concern. This was evident when H. Sujiwo conducted a surprise inspection at several gas stations across Kubu Raya on Friday (March 20).

During the inspection, Sujiwo found troubling conditions. Several gas stations had run out of fuel, with some reportedly closed for up to five to seven days.

“We found several gas stations shut down due to lack of fuel supply. This is a serious concern,” he said.

Unusual Surge in Fuel Demand

According to Sujiwo, fuel demand typically increases ahead of Eid, but this year’s spike is unusually high.

“Normally, demand rises by around 6 percent, but now it has exceeded 20 percent. This clearly needs joint evaluation,” he explained.

He emphasized that the issue cannot be treated as routine and requires coordination between local authorities, gas station operators, and national fuel distributors.

Pertamax Shortage Raises Concerns

In addition to the shortage of subsidized fuel like Pertalite, Sujiwo also highlighted the disappearance of non-subsidized fuel, Pertamax, at several stations.

“If Pertalite is unavailable, at least Pertamax should be provided. This is non-subsidized fuel and still needed by the public,” he stressed.

The absence of alternatives is feared to worsen long queues at gas stations.

Long Queues Disrupt Daily Life

Fuel shortages have led to long lines at multiple gas stations, forcing residents to wait for hours just to refuel.

This situation is not only disrupting daily activities but could also impact mobility during the upcoming Eid homecoming period.

Potential Fuel Hoarding Under Watch

Sujiwo did not rule out the possibility of fuel hoarding contributing to the shortage.

He called on law enforcement authorities to take firm action if violations are discovered.

“If there is hoarding, whoever is responsible must be prosecuted according to the law,” he stated.

Distribution Evaluation Becomes Key

The local government is now pushing for a comprehensive evaluation of the fuel distribution system in Kubu Raya.

Quick action and strong coordination are seen as essential to prevent similar issues, especially during critical periods like Eid.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Why is fuel scarce in Kubu Raya?
It is likely due to an unusually high surge in demand and possible distribution issues.

2. How much has fuel demand increased?
Typically around 6%, but it has now exceeded 20%.

3. Is there any indication of fuel hoarding?
It is still under investigation, but authorities have not ruled it out.

4. What is the impact on residents?
Long queues at gas stations and disruptions to daily activities.

5. What actions are being taken?
Inspections, distribution evaluation, and strict law enforcement if violations are found.

To stay within budget:

  • Choose comfortable and reusable outfits

Comfort and togetherness matter more than appearance.

  • Eat healthy meals

  • Do light exercise

  • Manage stress

A healthy body helps you handle all preparations more effectively.

8. Prepare Your Mind And Heart

Eid is not just about physical and material preparation. It is also about emotional readiness. This is the perfect time to forgive and reconnect.

Take time to:

  • Reflect on yourself

  • Repair relationships

  • Set positive intentions

This kind of preparation may not be visible, but it is deeply meaningful.

9. Create An Eid Preparation Checklist

To keep everything organized, create a checklist for your Eid preparation. This ensures nothing important is missed.

Simple checklist example:

  • Budget finalized

  • Travel tickets booked

  • Shopping completed

  • House cleaned

  • Menu prepared

A checklist is especially helpful if you have a busy schedule.

10. Enjoy The Process, Not Just The Celebration

One thing often overlooked in preparing for Eid is enjoying the process itself. In reality, these moments create the most meaningful memories.

From shopping together to cooking and cleaning, every step can be enjoyable if done with a relaxed mindset.

Preparing for Eid is not only about fulfilling material needs but also about creating meaningful moments with loved ones. With proper planning, you can go through Eid preparation without stress and truly enjoy every moment.
