Google Meet Launches Real-Time Voice Translation That Mimics Your Voice! |
Great news if you often use Google Meet for video calls! Now, Google Meet has a cool new feature — real-time voice translation. What’s amazing is that this feature doesn’t just translate words, it actually mimics your voice, including your tone and expression while you speak.
This feature runs on Google’s advanced AI technology called Gemini. So, if you’re chatting in English and your friend speaks Spanish, Google Meet will instantly translate both sides of the conversation. And the best part? It happens without any delay, so your chat flows naturally.
At the recent Google I/O conference, developers showed how awesome this feature is. For example, an English speaker and a Spanish speaker joined the same call, turned on the feature, and Google Meet started translating their conversation instantly — using voices that sound very much like their own. This keeps the natural feel of the conversation even if you’re speaking different languages.
Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced a similar real-time translation feature in Teams, but it’s still in preview. For Google Meet, this feature is already available — but only for subscribers.
Right now, Google Meet supports translation between English and Spanish. But in the next few weeks, they’ll add more languages like Italian, German, and Portuguese to make your meetings even smoother.
With this feature, language barriers won’t stand in the way of your meetings or casual chats on Google Meet anymore. Pretty cool, right?
