West Java Police Uncover 177 Cases in Operation Pekat II Lodaya 2025, Targeting Street Crime and Thuggery.

The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar), through its Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum), has achieved significant success in cracking down on street crime and public disturbances during Operation Pekat II Lodaya 2025, held from May 1 to May 10, 2025.

The operation uncovered 177 criminal cases, 111 of which were related to thuggery and street-level extortion. Police arrested a total of 504 individuals, including 44 identified as Priority Targets and 133 categorized as Non-Targets.

Confiscated evidence from the operation includes:

  • 45 sharp weapons

  • 1 airsoft gun

  • 98 motorcycles

  • 5 cars

  • 8 mobile phones

  • 49 documents

  • 31 articles of clothing

  • 2 identification cards

This operation was conducted under Operation Plan No. R/Renops/12/IV/OPS.1.3./2025 and Chief of Police Order No. Sprin/1102/IV/OPS.1.3./2025 dated April 29, 2025. It involved personnel from various units, including preventive, preemptive, and law enforcement teams across Polda Jabar and its district police commands.

West Java Police Spokesperson, Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan, emphasized the importance of the operation in maintaining public safety.

“This operation reflects the hard work of our officers who went directly into communities to address social ills, especially thuggery, which often disturbs the peace. We will continue enforcing the law firmly, proportionately, and humanely,” said Hendra on Monday (May 12, 2025).

Several notable cases were also successfully investigated during the operation, such as:

  • An assault case involving members of the Gibas mass organization, handled by Tasikmalaya and Cimahi Police.

  • A car seizure case involving debt collectors from the Indomobil finance company.

In addition to law enforcement, the West Java Police are coordinating with local governments to address the social and economic roots of street crime.

“We are actively discussing job creation and socio-cultural interventions with the Governor of West Java and municipal leaders,” Hendra added.

The West Java Police Chief has instructed all regional units to continue crackdowns and public order operations to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all residents.
