In his opening remarks, Chief AKBP Donny expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support and excitement from the public. He emphasized that the event was not just about health, but also about unity.
"We’ve prepared door prizes to make this event more festive, and to serve as a platform for strengthening relationships and reaffirming our shared commitment to maintaining peace in Sekadau," said AKBP Donny.
He also highlighted that the theme "The Police for the People" serves as proof of the police’s continued efforts to stand side-by-side with the community and foster meaningful, long-term partnerships.
Meanwhile, Regent Aron took the opportunity to commend the police for their consistent role in maintaining order and fostering closeness with the people.
"On behalf of myself and the Sekadau regional government, I extend heartfelt congratulations to the Sekadau Police on Bhayangkara Day. This event not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also strengthens bonds between the police, local government, and our community,” said Aron.
Healthy Walk Route and Exciting Door Prizes Draw Enthusiastic Participation
Following the group exercise session, participants embarked on a healthy walk along a designated route starting from Polres Sekadau Headquarters, passing through Jalan Merdeka Timur, Jalan Maulana Ibrahim, and Jalan Perintis, before returning to the headquarters.
The excitement grew even more with the drawing of numerous door prizes. Participants had a chance to win a variety of items including rice cookers, electric fans, gas stoves, water dispensers, LED TVs, mountain bikes, refrigerators, washing machines, electric bikes, and even motorcycles—all distributed freely as tokens of appreciation.
A Spirit of Togetherness Echoes Through the Bhayangkara Celebration
Throughout the morning, the event exuded a vibrant sense of unity and togetherness. Residents from all walks of life interacted positively with the police, creating a warm, collaborative atmosphere. It was clear that events like these are powerful tools for enhancing public trust and fostering long-lasting engagement between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Why Events Like This Matter for Community and Law Enforcement
Health-oriented events such as group exercises and community walks provide more than physical benefits. They create spaces where citizens and the police can engage outside of formal settings, build trust, and nurture mutual respect. This aligns perfectly with the mission behind Bhayangkara Day—to reflect and renew the commitment of the police to serve and protect in harmony with society.
