Early Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, the Samapta Patrol Team from Central Jakarta Metro Police caught four teenagers carrying sharp weapons while hanging out on Kalipasir Street, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The teens are identified as AR (15), AD (15), SF (14), and GC aka MY (16).

According to Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro, this arrest was part of regular patrols aimed at stopping potential street fights before they happen. During the stop, officers seized five sickles, one machete, a cellphone, and a sack full of glass bottles from the teens.

“Our patrol team spotted the group gathering and suspected they were about to start a fight,” Commissioner Susatyo explained.

He also stressed that the police will keep up these routine patrols to crack down on street crime, especially fights involving minors.

“We’re serious about taking firm action against all kinds of street violence so the community can feel safe,” he added.

Commissioner Susatyo urged parents to keep a close eye on their kids and monitor their activities to prevent them from getting involved in dangerous behavior or crime.

“To all parents out there, please watch over your kids’ friendships and daily routines, and teach them positive values to keep them away from fights or illegal activities. And if anyone sees suspicious behavior in the neighborhood, don’t hesitate to contact the police right away,” he said.
