| Bareskrim Uncovers Drug Suppliers Behind Online Taxi Driver Assault Case. |
The Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has arrested several individuals suspected of supplying drugs to an online taxi driver identified as FG, who assaulted one of his passengers. This arrest marks a crucial step in exposing the drug network that allegedly fueled the criminal act.
According to Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya, the joint task force successfully secured several suspects connected to the illegal drug distribution. His statement was delivered on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Brig. Gen. Eko explained that the suspects are believed to be part of a syndicate distributing crystal meth (sabu) to FG prior to the assault.
The case has now been officially taken over by Bareskrim Polri. The joint task force includes the NIC Task Force led by Police Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap and Police Commissioner Awaludin Amin. Sub-Directorate IV, under the leadership of Police Commissioner Handik Zusen, is also involved in the operation.
At this stage, investigators are still pursuing leads to uncover the wider drug network. Because of ongoing developments, authorities have not yet released the suspects’ identities.
“The team is continuing its investigation to dismantle the drug syndicate,” Brig. Gen. Eko stated.
This case highlights how drug distribution can intertwine with violent crime. Law enforcement emphasizes its commitment to securing public safety by targeting not only perpetrators, but also the suppliers who enable these criminal acts.
