The tragic death of a young SPA therapist in Bekasi City has begun to unfold as police confirmed the arrest of a man suspected of being involved in the case. The suspect, identified as Ahmad Riansa, is believed to have played a key role in the death of the victim, SM (23).

SM was found dead inside her room at Al-Ash Boarding House, located on Jalan Letnan Arsyad Raya No. 3, Kayuringin Jaya, South Bekasi. The discovery shocked local residents, as the victim was found lifeless in her own locked room.

Police arrested Ahmad Riansa on Sunday night, January 11, 2026, at around 11:30 p.m. WIB. The arrest took place in Kampung Sanding, Sumurbandung Village, Cikulur District, Lebak Regency, Banten.

The arrest was confirmed by the Head of the Mobile Criminal Investigation Sub-Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Ressa F. Marasabessy.
“The suspect, Ahmad Riansa, has been successfully apprehended,” Ressa said in a written statement on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Earlier, the victim’s body was discovered on Wednesday evening, January 7, 2026, at approximately 8:26 p.m. WIB. Concerns arose after SM could not be contacted since midday. Worried about her condition, the victim’s mother asked a man identified as AS, who claimed to be a family member, to check on her at the boarding house.

“The victim had been unreachable since the afternoon,” Ressa explained.

Upon arriving at the location, AS knocked on the victim’s door several times, but there was no response from inside. Suspecting something was wrong, he then asked the boarding house caretaker, identified as DRH, for help.

Because the door was locked from the inside, they used a spare key to open the room. Once the door was opened, they found SM already dead.

“When the door was opened, the victim was found lifeless,” Ressa said.

Police also found a bottle containing toilet cleaning liquid and traces of vomit near the victim’s body. These findings are now a crucial part of the investigation, as authorities continue to determine the exact cause of death and uncover the motive behind the suspected murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have stated they are committed to fully uncovering the facts of the case to ensure justice for the victim.
