Borneo Tribun Pontianak, West Kalimantan - West Kalimantan Governor Sutarmidji is furious with the performance of public relations within the West Kalimantan Provincial Government. Public relations, which is actually the mouthpiece of the government, is actually considered not functioning.

This was conveyed by Midji while leading the commemoration ceremony for the 65th Anniversary of the West Kalimantan Provincial Government, last Friday.

“So far, I say that public relations is not functioning properly because of a lack of understanding. There are only good at taking pictures here and there, and there are no good photos,” said Midji.

According to Midji, this is not right. This is because, he stressed, there are many programs and developments that have been achieved by the West Kalimantan Provincial Government, which are not widely known by the public.

“Humas is the mouthpiece of what the West Kalimantan Provincial Government has done. We've done a lot of things but nothing has ever been properly exposed. So I have to expose myself via my social media accounts, this is actually not true. If we talk about what the provincial government has done, PR must speak up," he said.

He also emphasized that public relations should no longer be filled with people who do not have extensive knowledge. Because, according to Midji, public relations is a place for creative, innovative, and broad-minded people.

“Understanding the intricacies of the economy, social life with development and so on. That is the function of public relations,” he concluded.(*)
