Indonesia’s immigration authorities are taking firm action once again. A Taiwanese mother and her child have been deported from Singkawang, West Kalimantan, after being found in violation of Indonesian immigration laws.
Officials from the Singkawang Class I Immigration Office confirmed that the two foreign nationals were detained several days ago during routine monitoring activities. After a thorough investigation, authorities decided deportation was the appropriate legal step.
According to Achmad Aswira, Head of Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement, the decision followed strict procedures under Indonesia’s Immigration Law No. 6 of 2011.
“This deportation is part of our commitment to enforce immigration regulations and protect Indonesia’s national sovereignty,” Aswira said.
Before being sent home, immigration officers conducted full identity checks and legal status verification to ensure everything was handled according to official standards. Once the administrative process was completed, the mother and child were escorted to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang for their departure back to Taiwan.
Authorities stressed that the move was not only a legal action but also a preventive measure aimed at maintaining public order and security.
Indonesia’s Immigration Office reaffirmed that foreign nationals must comply with local laws while staying in the country, and violations will not be taken lightly.
“We will continue to increase supervision and take decisive action against any foreigner who breaks immigration rules in Singkawang,” Aswira added.
The case serves as a clear reminder that Indonesia remains serious about enforcing its immigration policies, ensuring safety, and maintaining legal order for everyone within its borders.
