BorneoTribun Melawi, West Kalimantan - Babinsa Koramil 1205-15/Sokan Attended the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the ST Gabriel Stasi Sokan Catholic Church, Sunday (30/01/2022).
Serma Ridwan said that the stone-laying activity was attended by the Regent of Melawi H. Dadi Sunarya Usfa Surya, Sub-district Head Sokan H.Ibrahim, traditional community leaders and religious leaders participated in the activity.
In his remarks, the Regent of Melawi said that the Melawi Regency Government supported the construction of the church, as well as congratulated and succeeded in starting the construction of the Catholic Church of ST Gabriel Stasi Sokan. He also believes that the costs needed in the church construction process must be obtained by the Committee from various parties.
On that occasion, the Regent also said that the Melawi Regency Government has a principle, namely to accelerate urban development, it must be carried out by all parties. Therefore, the Melawi Regency Government provides convenience in obtaining special permits for public facilities such as houses of worship.
He also explained that the church building proposal had been accepted and would be processed. It is hoped that the grant assistance to be provided by the Regional Government can be accepted regardless of the amount given. However, it is certain that the Melawi Regency Government will always support the construction of houses of worship.
“My message, whoever builds this church, is to be careful at work, so that accidents don't happen. Prioritize the safety of the workers, because this is the construction of a house of worship," he concluded.
The event took place safely and orderly and complied with health protocols, concluded Babinsa.
