Teachers Lead the Change: Sanggau Hosts Temu Pendidik Nusantara XII with Big Impact on Education Future.

Sanggau just made a bold statement in the world of education! On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the District Parliament Hall in Sanggau was filled with energy as Vice Regent Susana Herpena officially opened the 12th Temu Pendidik Nusantara (TPN XII). This inspiring event, organized by the Nusantara Teacher Learning Community and supported by the Yayasan Guru Belajar Foundation, brought together educators who are passionate about making real changes in how we teach and learn.

During her speech, Vice Regent Susana didn’t hold back her appreciation. She highlighted how powerful and timely the event's theme was: "Educational Climate and Climate Education". It’s more than just catchy—it’s a direct response to the challenges today’s teachers and students are facing.

She said it loud and clear:

“I’m seriously proud that Sanggau was picked as one of 45 regions to host this national-level education conference. Plus, the fact that it’s been nominated for the 2024 UNESCO Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development? That’s huge. It proves that innovative and consistent teacher-driven learning efforts are making waves—both here and internationally.”

Education Is Sanggau’s Core Vision

Vice Regent Susana also made it clear that education is one of the pillars of Sanggau’s long-term development vision: fair, sustainable, and forward-looking. She stressed that teachers are the backbone of any serious effort to improve human resources and community welfare.

She pointed out:

“Our third mission is to enhance the skills and capabilities of our people. That can’t happen without you—our teachers. You’re not just teaching lessons, you’re changing lives.”

TPN: A Space Where Teachers Grow and Inspire

What makes Temu Pendidik Nusantara so powerful is how it gives teachers the chance to learn from each other, get recognized, and explore new teaching methods that really fit today’s fast-changing world.

“This matches perfectly with our local government’s goal to empower teachers as frontline agents of educational transformation. Teachers aren’t just delivering content—they’re shifting mindsets and sparking change, in classrooms and across communities. TPN has shown us that, and that’s why initiatives like this matter so much,” Susana explained.

The Message: Take Back Ideas, Bring Real Change

Before closing her speech, Vice Regent Susana shared her hopes that every teacher who joins TPN XII goes back home full of fresh energy, new ideas, and a stronger drive to keep building better schools and brighter futures.

“We’re 100% committed to working alongside our teachers to make sure Sanggau grows into a fair, sustainable, and progressive region.”
