Pontianak – The Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan Province (Sekda Kalbar), Dr. Harisson, M.Kes., on behalf of the Governor of West Kalimantan, presented the Governor’s Explanatory Note on the Adjustment of the General Budget Policy (KUA) and the Temporary Budget Ceiling Priority (PPAS) for the 2025 Fiscal Year. The statement was delivered during the Plenary Session of the West Kalimantan Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) on Wednesday (August 6, 2025), held at the Balairungsari Room, DPRD Secretariat Office.

The session was chaired by DPRD Speaker Aloysius, S.H., M.Si., and attended by DPRD members and heads of regional departments across the province.

In his remarks, Harisson stated that the explanatory note outlines the rationale and adjustments made in the 2025 KUA and PPAS, including changes in performance targets, program objectives, and temporary budget ceilings in the provincial budget.

“These macroeconomic framework changes are intended to sharpen the direction of development, especially in policies and strategies aimed at achieving the vision and mission of the West Kalimantan Provincial Government,” Harisson explained during the session.

He also noted that the 2025 economic growth projection for West Kalimantan is estimated to range between 1.5% and 3.5%, taking into account both external and domestic factors such as inflation, agriculture output, infrastructure development, and regional trade.

“Additional assumptions also take into consideration the characteristics of the region, including contributions from the agricultural sector, infrastructure development, and the stability of household consumption through trade activity,” he added.

Harisson concluded with optimism, expressing hope that the province’s economic growth in 2025 will significantly contribute to regional development goals. The government is targeting improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI), reductions in open unemployment, and lower poverty rates.
