Jakarta – In a strong push toward building a more transparent and professional government, Indonesia’s Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is setting its sights on improving performance accountability. One of their key goals? Achieving an “A” rating in the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP).

Secretary-General of the ATR/BPN Ministry, Pudji Prasetijanto Hadi, emphasized that this isn’t just about chasing a score—it’s about aligning ministry programs with national development goals and delivering real impact.

“In the past two years, our SAKIP score has continued to improve. But we’re not stopping here. We all need to work together if we want to reach that ‘A’ level,” Pudji said during a national webinar titled Steps Toward Achieving an A in SAKIP, held Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

For context, the ATR/BPN Ministry’s SAKIP score in 2023 was 69.17—earning a BB (Very Good) rating. In 2024, that score rose to 70.54, still in the same category. Pudji used the webinar to encourage regional land offices (BPN) to speak up about any roadblocks they face on the ground.

Central Support for Regional Offices

“You’re not alone out there,” Pudji reassured. “We at the central office are ready to provide guidance, feedback, and solutions. Let’s make sure no link in the chain is broken.”

The webinar featured expert speakers from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), and the National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas)—all reinforcing the same message: stronger accountability needs strong collaboration.

Digital Innovation: Introducing e-SAKIP in the SKMPP App

Andi Tenri Abeng, Head of the Planning and Cooperation Bureau, also shared exciting updates. The ministry is currently developing an e-SAKIP feature within its Land Program Quality Control System (SKMPP) application. The goal? Making performance reporting easier and more efficient.

“Hopefully this new tool will boost our motivation to manage SAKIP better. With e-SAKIP, it’ll be much easier for evaluators and leadership to see how far we’ve come,” Andi explained.

What Is SAKIP and Why Does It Matter?

SAKIP is an integrated system that ties together all aspects of performance management in public institutions—from planning and budgeting to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Einstein Al Makarima Mohammad, Acting Secretary of the Ministry’s Human Resources Development Agency, noted that understanding SAKIP isn’t just for administrators. “It’s a mindset. SAKIP is about making sure every action we take is measurable, targeted, and impactful,” he said.

Moving Toward a More Effective and Professional Government

Also joining the event were Budi Santosa, Acting Head of the Bureau of Organization, Governance, and Risk Management, and Awaludin, Head of General Affairs and Procurement Services. Their presence reflected strong internal support for the push toward excellence.

In the end, achieving an “A” in SAKIP isn’t just a bureaucratic milestone—it’s part of a larger transformation toward public service that works, delivers, and earns trust.

“This is about more than just ticking boxes. It’s about our responsibility to build a government that truly serves the people,” Pudji concluded.
